The campus of religions is the new landmark and heart of the innovation quarter of Vienna
The campus of religions is the new center of peace and intercultural exchange for Vienna in the 21st century, going far beyond conventional solutions. It combines a place of interreligious contemplation and the innovative and flexible teaching culture of the future with the highest level of sustainability, the social traditions of Vienna and the expectations of the next generation form the basic framework of the concept.
The agora is the heart of the project. It is a place of encounter, inspiration and interreligious exchange.
The space enables flexible use for larger events or “open air” mass. From there, the organizational backbone of the project starts, extending across the concentric main square to the foyer in the north of the campus.
This main axis connects all public and shared programs, enabling a variety of connections and rich exchange between the premises of the religious communities among themselves and the Ecclesiastical Pedagogical College (KPH).
The holistic environmental concept is tailored to Austria’s outstanding position in the field of building innovation and timber processing.
Our profound approach to climate change takes CO2 emissions into account not only during operation but also during construction, resulting in a significant change in the way the building cycle manages the resources of our planet respectfully.
The aim here is to create a new aesthetic in timber construction and to bring Vienna to the fore internationally as a pioneer of sustainability.
The campus of religions promotes an environmentally friendly teaching culture and an interreligious forum at the highest level, in the city with the world’s best quality of life.
