Context

The Donaumarina Tower, created in an amazing Partnership with Foster+Partners. The ambition of the Donaumarina Tower as a new landmark for Vienna in the 21st century, combines the most sustainable with the innovative and flexible office culture of the future. The social traditions of Vienna and the expectations of our next generation form the basis of the concept.

The vision is to develop a timeless office building that offers a glance far into the future, generates the highest revenue and sets new international standards in terms of environmental engineering. A building that enables start-ups and already established companies to attract the best talent into the up and coming district.

Concept

The Donaumarina Tower forms the new heart of the district and Vienna’s new landmark for innovation.

The heart piece is the main entrance stair case which welcomes public life into the podium. This space is to be used as a multifunctional zone hosting events and vernissages.

The public podium attracts life and generates a catalyst for the new Marina City quarter. It is designed with the highest visual transparency and displays all internal activities as well as its innovative timber structure to the neighborhood.

Content

The aim here is to create a new aesthetic in timber architecture and to further promote Vienna internationally as a pioneer of sustainability.

An environmentally compatible office culture at the highest level in the city with the best quality of life worldwide.

The cutting edge design achieves a 43% CO2 reduction in the construction of the timber tower compared to a conventional steel-concrete tower. The Donaumarina Tower saves up to 3000 tones of CO2.
